ISO 10110 code numbers 0/ to 6/

Every tolerance on an ISO 10110 optical drawing starts with a code number and a slash. Codes 0/ to 2/ describe the material and go in the middle field of the drawing table; 3/ to 6/ describe a surface and go in that surface’s field.

The codes

0/Stress birefringence
ISO 10110-18:2018 · e.g. 0/ 10
1/Bubbles and inclusions
ISO 10110-18:2018 · e.g. 1/ 3x0.16
2/Inhomogeneity and striae
ISO 10110-18:2018 · e.g. 2/ 1;3
3/Surface form tolerance
ISO 10110-5 · e.g. 3/ 2(0.5); λ = 632.8 nm
4/Centring tolerance
ISO 10110-6 · e.g. 4/ 3′
5/Surface imperfections
ISO 10110-7:2017 · e.g. 5/ 3x0.16; L2x0.004; E0.5
6/Laser damage threshold
ISO 10110-17:2004 · e.g. 6/ 25 J/cm2; 1064 nm; 20 ns

Prefixes

00/ 01/ 02/ apply a material requirement to the raw material (the glass maker’s certificate is accepted as proof); 10/ 11/ 12/ to a finished assembly. 15/ is surface imperfections in an assembly. 13/ is used for wavefront deformation (ISO 10110-14) verify.
